1) Did the Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation start in the 1940's?

No. The Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation began in Chicago, Illinois in 1963 by a group of Puerto Ricans on Kedzie and Ohio, where the first chapter of the ALKQN was created. Within one month of the first chapter being formed, the second chapter of the ALKQN was formed on Leavitt and Schiller.

The motivation for creating the ALKQN came from the fact that street clubs could come together as one organization to protect themselves from the racism and abuse.

No one individual is recognized as being the founding brother of the ALKQN.

2) Was the original name of the ALKQN the ALKN?

No. The original name of the Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation was the Latin King's Organization (LKO).

3) Who are the authors of the KMC and what is the document's history?

The primary author of the KMC was brother Dino (may he rest in peace). While Dino worked with other brothers, he is credited with being the primary author. The document was written in Stateville Penitentiary during 1975-1977.

Dino had a history as an activist with the Young Lord's Organization.

Before the KMC was written, the leadership of the ALKQN utilized titles such as President, Vice President, etc.

Brother Dino passed away in 1994.

Brother Cookie is recognized as the brother who created the name The Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation.

4) Is there a history of Queens in Chicago?

Yes. The Queens began in 1964 on Division and Spaulding.

Once the Queens were incorporated into the organization, the name was changed to the Latin Kings and Queens Organization.

Queens follow the KMC.

5) Are there currently any Queen's chapters in Chicago?

While there are Queens currently in Chicago, there are no chapters.

6) Did the Nation have a working relationship with the Young Lord's Organization in Chicago?

Brother Dino (R.I.P.) was a member of the Young Lord's prior to becoming a Latin King. Because the origin of the Young Lord's Organization was as a street organization, the working relationship with the Nation existed on a level where the leadership of the Young Lord's Organization would ask for approval from the Nation prior to organizing and executing events that took place in the street.

7) How are meetings in Chicago traditionally started and ended?

In Chicago, meetings are traditionally started with the brothers facing the East and reciting the King's and Queen's Prayer.

A brother requests the opportunity to speak by raising his crown.

Meetings traditionally end with all of the brothers saying, "Amor de Rey".

Sisters traditionally had their own meetings.

8) What is the meaning of Kingism?

Kingism is the way of life for a King. It is the realization that as a member of the ALKQN, you have a duty to all oppressed people of the world.

Kingism is not a stage outside of being a crowned King. It is the lifestyle that you lead as a King.

9) Are there any ethnicities that are denied access to the Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation?

No. All ethnicities that commit to the cause of the ALKQN are accepted.

10) What are the official numerical codes of the Nation?

There are no official numerical codes, outside of 360, that represent the Nation. In recent years codes such as 1-4-18 and 4-2-6 where invented by various brothers and sisters and presented to others as official. However, there is no legitimacy to this.
